Elected as MSP

Thank you to everyone who voted, helped, delivered leaflets, knocked doors, made calls, put up posters, gave lifts, shared posts and kept going right to the end. Elections are won by teams, and I am very grateful to every volunteer and supporter who gave their time and energy to this campaign. Locally, I was delighted to be elected as the member for Falkirk East and Linlithgow. Returning to elected politics for my home area is a great privilege, and taking a seat in our national Parliament is the greatest honour of my political life.

The SNP has won a fifth Holyrood election in a row, with 73 pro-independence MSPs elected and more SNP seats than all the unionist parties combined. If that is not a mandate, what is? The campaign is over, but the work now begins: setting up a local office, recruiting staff, standing up for every part of the constituency, and making the case for Scotland’s right to choose its own future. Thank you again. Now we get back to work.
