Apply for an Absent Vote
New changes being introduced which enable online applications for postal votes will not be in place for the Scottish Election on 7 May 2026. If you have applied online for a Postal Vote at the Westminster elections this will not apply to the Scottish Parliament or local Council Elections and you will need to complete a paper application to vote by Post on 7th May 2026.
If you live in Linlithgow (West Lothian Council area), please use the Lothian Electoral Registration Office forms and return your completed form to them.
If you live in the Falkirk Council area, please use the Central Scotland Electoral Registration Office forms and return your completed form to them.
You can apply to vote by post or by proxy (someone voting on your behalf). Forms must be completed, signed, and returned to your local Electoral Registration Office (ERO).
