MARTYN DAY
SNP Candidate for Falkirk East and Linlithgow
Martyn Day served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Linlithgow and East Falkirk from 2015 until July 2024. Before entering Westminster politics, Martyn served as a councillor on West Lothian Council from the late 1990s after an initial career in retail banking.
During his time in Parliament, he was active in parliamentary committees, including serving on the Public Accounts Committee, which scrutinizes government spending, and held the position of SNP Health Spokesperson at Westminster, where he took a keen interest in diet, nutrition and healthy eating.
He focused on various issues including social justice, renewable energy, and Scottish independence, advocating for his constituents’ interests, particularly on matters relating to local industry and employment.
Outside of his political career, Martyn maintains several personal interests including history, folk music, and videography.
Across Falkirk East and Linlithgow the SNP has a strong and dedicated team of hard working active members and local representatives.
