SNP Action Cuts Child Poverty in Scotland

Figures from The Big Issue show that 21,000 fewer children are living in poverty in Scotland compared to 2017 — a 12% reduction under the SNP.

Meanwhile, in England and Wales, child poverty has risen by 15%, with 320,000 more children affected.

And this progress comes before Scotland even begins removing the cruel two-child benefit cap.

From 2 March 2026, the SNP Government will introduce the Two Child Limit Payment — delivered faster than any action of its kind across the UK.
