Out on the Doorsteps

SNP Candidate Martyn Day was out across the constituency again this week, knocking doors, listening to folk, and working shoulder to shoulder with our brilliant SNP councillors in both West Lothian and Falkirk.

What’s coming through loud and clear is frustration. Household budgets are still being hammered by the cost of living, and people can see a UK Government in London lurching from one u-turn to the next with no clear plan and no grip on the pressures families are facing.

Support for Labour in Scotland is falling away fast as a result. And into that vacuum steps Nigel Farage and Reform UK – a snake oil act offering easy slogans and dangerous ideas, including talk of moving towards an insurance-based healthcare system. That’s not the direction Scotland wants or needs.

On the doorsteps, the conversation is very different. It’s about protecting our NHS, supporting families, tackling poverty, and making sure Scotland’s priorities aren’t treated as an afterthought by Westminster governments.

That’s exactly why our SNP team locally and nationally keeps working flat out – focused on the things that actually matter to people’s lives.
