Motability Scheme Changes
UK Government tax changes are increasing the cost of running the Motability Scheme by £300 million a year, leading to new mileage limits, excess mileage charges and other restrictions for new Scottish customers from 1 September.
The Scheme provides vital independence for around 91,000 disabled people in Scotland.
I have asked the Scottish Government what representations it has made to the UK Government and what action it is taking to protect disabled people from these increased costs and restrictions.
