The revelations around Mandelson’s links to Jeffrey Epstein, the leaking of sensitive government material, and his connections to Peter Thiel’s Palantir raise serious questions about networks of influence operating at the heart of UK power. When you add in the role of Labour Together and the small circle of insiders pulling strings behind the scenes, it is impossible to ignore what this might have meant for Scotland, particularly during Labour’s general election selections where parachute candidates appeared in constituencies they barely knew, and in some cases didn’t even live in.
