Happy Independence Day India

Happy Indian Independence Day to everyone celebrating today.

When I had the honour of meeting my partner’s great uncle, P. E. Narayanin, who took part in India’s freedom struggle, I asked him if he ever had any regrets about independence.

His answer stayed with me: “Yes, I didn’t do enough.”

A powerful reminder that the work of building a fairer, freer world is never finished — and that each of us has a part to play.
