Airth Highland Games

I was delighted to attend the Airth Highland Games and to join this year’s Chieftain, Fiona Kennedy, in presenting the trophy to Mr and Mrs Gardiner, winners of the garden competition.

I had the difficult task of judging the competition, with every entry showing an impressive amount of work, care and imagination. They certainly all put my own garden to shame!

Airth Highland Games is one of Scotland’s oldest traditional gatherings. Its official records date back to 1871, with the modern Games developing from Airth’s historic Auld Whistle Fair. It was great to see the community continuing this proud local tradition.
