Back on the doorsteps

After a short family break and time away for Party conference, I’m back leading the local SNP team across the constituency — refreshed, recharged, and ready to get to work. On doorsteps and at street stalls, there’s a renewed energy among supporters. The direction of travel set out at conference — laser-focused on winning an independence majority at Holyrood — has put a real spring in our step. Members endorsed a clear strategy: secure a majority of MSPs next May as the democratic mandate to progress Scotland’s future. That clarity is exactly what voters have been asking for.

John Swinney’s keynote also underlined a practical policy agenda that speaks to everyday concerns:

Cutting NHS bottlenecks with a network of 15 walk-in GP centres, open seven days a week from noon till 8pm — adding over a million extra appointments and making it easier to be seen after work.

Supporting our care sector by directly sponsoring visas for overseas care workers, a targeted, Scotland-first response to staffing pressures.

A clear path to independence, centred on winning a parliamentary majority — a simple message we can take to every doorstep between now and May.
