Westminster Cuts Hit Families Hard

During the General Election, the Labour Party denied SNP warnings that their fiscal rules would result in billions of pounds worth of cuts. Yet, since taking power, the Labour government has:

• Pushed children into poverty with the two-child benefit cap
• Blocked compensation for WASPI women
• Slashed international aid
• Tried to introduce cuts to disabled people
• Increased employer National Insurance Contributions – effectively a tax on jobs

Labour promised cheaper energy bills, but instead, bills are £187 higher than this time last year. People will go into winter struggling to heat their homes. In an energy-rich country, that is unacceptable.
