Waiting Lists Fall for 6 months in Row

NHS Scotland waiting lists have fallen for the sixth month in a row. That’s not spin — it’s Public Health Scotland data.

After claims from Anas Sarwar that waiting lists were rising, the figures show the opposite: long waits are down, including a more than 10% drop in people waiting over 52 weeks for outpatient appointments in a single month.

This progress didn’t happen by accident. It’s down to the skill, commitment and sheer graft of NHS staff, backed by sustained investment and leadership from the SNP Government — despite the pressures created by a Labour government at Westminster.

There is more to do. But Scotland’s NHS is turning a corner, and our staff deserve thanks, not constant negativity. Talking down the NHS helps no one. Recognising progress, supporting staff and continuing to invest is how we move forward.
