Political Prisoners and Human Rights in Bangladesh

I have lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament highlighting serious concerns about political prisoners and human rights in Bangladesh.  https://www.parliament.scot/chamber-and-committees/votes-and-motions/S7M-00607

Justice must be delivered through independent courts, due process and the rule of law – not political revenge.

Reports that over 100 former Members of the Bangladesh Parliament remain in jail, alongside allegations of custodial deaths, denial of medical care, attacks on journalists, lawyers and minorities, are deeply concerning.

I am calling for the release of anyone detained for the peaceful exercise of their political views, for full investigations into allegations of abuse, and for the international community to continue pressing for democracy, justice and the rule of law in Bangladesh.
