Plans to boost Housing Supply

Housing is central to tackling child poverty, strengthening communities, and giving families the security they deserve.

That’s why the SNP is establishing a new national housing agency – More Homes Scotland – focused on simplicity, scale and speed to get homes built across the country.

Working with councils and the Scottish National Investment Bank, this new agency will help drive large-scale affordable housing, rural and island homes, and the infrastructure needed to make sites viable.

The 2026–27 Budget includes the largest affordable housing investment since records began in 1989. Since 2007, we’ve supported the delivery of 141,000 affordable homes — proportionately more than anywhere else in the UK, including 101,000 for social rent.

But we know the job isn’t done.  More Homes Scotland will help deliver homes more quickly, more affordably.
