LABOUR HAS LOST CONTROL OF PRICES

Britain’s biggest supermarkets have warned the Chancellor that hiking business rates will land straight on your receipt at the till. That’s the last thing families need.

The Food & Drink Federation now forecasts food inflation at 5.7% by December, on top of the huge rises we’ve already seen—around 37% since 2020. That is unsustainable for households and for producers.

Labour promised control of prices; instead we’re staring at policies that risk making your shop even dearer.

What we need to see are measures in the November budget that cut costs, support Scottish producers, and keep food on shelves at fair prices—without whacking shoppers or farmers.
