Good news for carers in just in time for Christmas!

Over 96,000 carers across Scotland – including hundreds right here in Falkirk East and Linlithgow – will receive the £293.50 Carer’s Allowance Supplement landing in bank accounts.

This SNP Scottish Government payment, unique to Scotland and introduced by the SNP in 2018, has now delivered more than one million payments and hundreds of millions of pounds directly to those who need it most.

Martyn Day, SNP candidate for Falkirk East and Linlithgow said:

“Unpaid carers do extraordinary work every single day, often at real financial cost to themselves – made even harder by soaring grocery and energy bills under the Labour Westminster government.

“That’s why I’m delighted that, once again, the SNP is putting money straight into the pockets of carers with this automatic payment – no forms, no fuss, just recognition and respect.

“This is what a Scottish social security system built on dignity, fairness and respect looks like.”
