Listening to Local Businesses – Building Scotland’s Economy Together

It’s always valuable to get out and meet the people who keep our local economy moving. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Ganesh Shinde and his team, who kindly gave me a tour of their warehouse operation. Their hard work, innovation, and commitment to customer service are a credit to our area, and it was great to hear first-hand about both the opportunities and the challenges they face.

With Forth Ports Grangemouth at the heart of the constituency handling over 9 million tonnes of cargo every year, 30% of Scotland’s GDP, it a vital hub for trade, jobs, and investment.

The SNP Scottish Government continues to work with business to grow Scotland’s economy, from investing in skills and training, to delivering record infrastructure spending, and supporting a just transition to a low-carbon future. With Scotland leading the UK on inward investment outside London, there is a strong foundation to build on – but it’s essential that the voices of local employers are heard in shaping policy.
