Celebrating Onam with Falkirk Malayali Kootayama

This wonderful community event brought together friends from across the wider Falkirk area — Muslims, Christians, and Hindus — to celebrate Kerala’s state festival here in their new home of Scotland. The spirit of togetherness and cultural pride on display was truly uplifting.

Our “new Scot” Malayali community makes an amazing contribution to local life — from healthcare and IT, to business and beyond. They enrich our economy, strengthen our public services, and add so much to our shared society.
