Record Rates Relief: SNP Delivering for Scotland’s Economy

The SNP Government is delivering real support for Scotland’s economy. New figures show that 150,090 businesses, charities, and organisations across Scotland have benefited from £729.8 million in rates relief this year – a level of support unmatched anywhere else in the UK.

Non-domestic rates relief, including the Small Business Bonus Scheme, continues to reduce costs for thousands of local employers by offering up to 100% relief for eligible small businesses. At a time when energy bills remain high and Labour has pushed up employer National Insurance costs, this help is essential.

“I welcome the news that 150,090 properties across Scotland are receiving £729.8 million in rates relief thanks to SNP policies. This support is vital as businesses face the pressure of rising costs and Labour’s decision to increase employer National Insurance contributions.

“The Scottish Government continues to offer the most generous rates relief anywhere in the UK – particularly through the Small Business Bonus Scheme, which provides 100% relief to a wider range of businesses than anywhere else.

“This level of investment shows clearly the value that John Swinney’s SNP Government places on supporting Scotland’s businesses, charities, and local organisations.”
