A Fresh Start With Independence

Welcome back to the first of Martyn Day’s Political Round Ups of 2026.

This week’s roundup sets out a clear and achievable path for Scotland: independence as the single biggest lever we have to improve our NHS, bring down energy bills and make daily life more affordable. As in 2011, a democratic mandate matters. In 2026, winning an SNP majority is how we secure a referendum that is recognised internationally and delivers Scotland the right to choose our own future.
