Dear {name} The election campaign will soon be over. Thursday is polling day. The PA systems will be put away, the leaflets will stop arriving through your letterbox, and the paid political adverts will stop appearing in your social media feeds. Until the next time. The old nationalist campaigner Oliver Brown used to say that elections were for those who didn’t take politics too seriously. Those of us who do know that what comes after the election matters even more. The next five years will not be about slogans. It will be about hard work, judgement, experience and delivering for people with every bit of knowledge, energy and luck we have. That is what I am standing for. John Swinney has been clear in the final days of this campaign. The SNP wants to get things done. We want action on the cost of living, support with the weekly shop, a £2 cap on bus fares, more help with childcare and a fresh start for Scotland with independence. The other parties are asking people to vote to stop things happening. I am asking you to vote for a government that is on Scotland’s side and ready to deliver. This election can produce a historic result. An SNP majority is within reach, but it will only happen if people turn out and make it happen. It is also the strongest way to lock Nigel Farage and Reform out of power in Scotland, and to send a clear message that Scotland’s future should be in Scotland’s hands. I have lived in this constituency all my life. I know our towns, villages and communities. I know the work that needs done, and I know how to get on with it. On Thursday, please use your vote to help elect an SNP majority government. Yours for Scotland,
