Dear {name} Scotland is being held back by Westminster. Labour’s tax on our energy is harming Scotland’s economy – particularly in the North East slashing jobs in oil and gas, and forcing firms to cut back at the worst levels since Covid. Few businesses expect turnover to grow this year, and almost 40% anticipate a decline. Thousands of jobs are being lost every month, and confidence has been “drained” because decisions from London are actively working against the businesses that underpin our economy. Meanwhile, vital renewable projects are being cancelled because the UK’s broken energy system punishes Scottish producers. The Orkney wind farm, which could have powered two million homes, has been axed due to unfair transmission charges. A stark reminder that Scotland’s energy must be in Scotland’s hands. These charges make producing electricity here far more expensive than in England, pushing up costs, reducing investment, and ultimately hitting jobs and families. At the same time, the cost of living under Labour continues to soar. Energy bills have risen again, food prices are climbing, and inflation in the UK is far higher than in other European countries. Families across Scotland are struggling to make ends meet while promises from Westminster go unfulfilled. Scotland has the resources, the talent, and the ideas to tackle the cost of living, invest in a clean energy future, and grow our economy for the benefit of the people who live here. Independence is the only way to take control of our energy, protect jobs, support families, and lower bills. In May, a vote for the SNP is a vote to put Scotland first, to take charge of our energy, and to deliver a fairer, more affordable future for everyone. Yours for Scotland,
