Dear {name} I’m appalled by Labour’s misrepresentation of Scottish Water. Their Environment Secretary, Steve Reed, falsely claimed Scotland’s water pollution is worse than England’s, despite clear evidence to the contrary. The Independent Water Commission’s report shows 66% of Scotland’s water bodies have good ecological status, compared to just 16.1% in England. SEPA confirms 87% of our water environment is rated ‘high’ or ‘good’—up from 82% in 2014. Yet, Labour talks down Scotland’s success. Why? Scottish Water, publicly owned, delivers bills £113 cheaper than England’s privatised mess, where bills are set to soar 30% over five years. Our model prioritises people, not profits. Scottish Water continues to improve through investment, not shareholder payouts. So why does Labour dismiss public ownership? Are they so wedded to privatisation that they’d rather see England’s water companies fleece consumers than admit Scotland’s approach works? The mainstream media’s silence is deafening. Where’s the scrutiny holding Labour to account for these distortions? Instead, they let misleading claims slide, undermining trust in politics. Scotland’s success proves public ownership of key assets like water delivers better outcomes. If Labour truly cared about people, they’d follow our lead, not disparage it. We in the SNP will keep fighting to protect Scotland and highlight the progress being made. With independence, we could do even more to ensure our nation’s resources serve the public, not private interests. Labour’s negativity won’t stop us from showcasing what Scotland can achieve. Yours for Scotland,
